Copycat Annex

Sunday night I went to the Copycat Annex to watch Lesser Gonzalez perform. He sounded really good and we were given spaghetti to eat but the house kitten is instense when it comes to human food so I felt like an animal myself fighting this cat for spaghetti.

Lesser Gonzalez is a guitar playing folk singer on the Carpark Label and will be playing at Whartscape this year too.

Apparently Frank from London stayed at a house full of people that believed the people were really Reptiles tied into a world wide Illuminati conspiracy. Oh they also believed that the world will end in 2012 so be ready. David Icke is the guy to blame this all on

Yep Reptiles, conspiracy’s, and the end of the world in 4 years. No joke. Read more about this crap here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Icke#Reptilian_humanoids

The Postcard Life Story

Michael Kimball is an author that is currently going around Baltimore with a table, a stack of post cards, and a cardboard sign that reads “Michael Kimball writes your life story (on a postcard)”.  It’s one of those ideas that makes you think d’oh why didnt I think of that but after observing the long line of people waiting for their complementary 4×6 card life story I quickly could tell that the brain of Michael was melting after the 100th post card write up but he kept going thought the whole night despite total apocalypse of his most basic human functions. He wrote my post card up at the Load of Fun building and my twin brothers at the Hun Fest a month or so later. Michael started doing this because he was supporting the release of his book “Dear Everybody” in which is about a man named Jonathon Bender who feels as if the world is not listening to him and decides to write a letter to everybody he has ever known - including his mother and father, his brother and other relatives, his childhood friends and neighbors, the Tooth Fairy, his classmates and teachers, his psychiatrists, his ex-girlfriends and his ex-wife, the state of Michigan, a television station, and a weather satellite.

But while have written so many life story’s on a postcard he was offered (and accepted) to put together and plan a book accumulating the best life story post cards which is to be released in the Washington and Baltimore region next year.

So… if YOU want to write him your life story on a postcard (and possibly in a book!) then you should definitely email him at postcardlifestories@gmail.com and if you do get a post card made up I would like to take a Polaroid of you to go along with your post card story and possibly to be added into the book as well. You can find me at innernumb@gmail.com or just leave a comment to this post!

There are two ways on going about emailing Micheal:

Easy way: You to send him your telephone number and the best time/s to call; he will call you and you can do the interview over the telephone.

Hard way: You tell him your name, age, where you were born, where you have lived, what you do (jobs and hobbies), what you study (if you’re in school), what you want to do with your life. Tell me about any important events in your life, any life changing decisions, any strange things that have happened to you, anything that makes you particularly you. Depending on what you tell him, he will probably ask follow-up questions.

This is the text version of our life story:

#016 The Life of Rob Brulinski
Rob Brulinski was born in 1988 in Towson and moved to Baltimore when he was 3. He was introduced to computers when he was six and this would have a great influence on his life. The other great influence was his grandfather, with whom he would sneak into TV shoots and movie theaters. He also began hacking, that is sneaking into other peoples computer systems. He will, for the rest of his life, do things that he isn’t supposed to do. He will go to church without believing in God. He will sleep in his car instead of his house. He will be an incredible success in spite of all of this—or because of it.

#039 Kenneth Brulinski, Jr.: The Only White Kid
Kenneth Brulinski, Jr. was born in 1988 in Baltimore and grew up in Highlandtown. His father is a carpenter and his mother is a drug dealer. He was usually the only white kid in his classes, which combined with having a hearing aid, led to a lot of fights in school. In the 3rd grade, he was stabbed in the chest in class, but recovered. Years later, he became a drug dealer himself. He was never arrested for that, but his mother once had him arrested for trespassing, among 4 other charges, and then he was arrested again for smoking a blunt. He has never had a lot of friends, but, luckily, he has always had his twin brother with him. Growing up, they were the dual personification of the mirror effect, but now they are opposites—Kenneth working with his back and Rob working with his mind (though they are still great friends). Kenneth’s carpentry skills, which he learned from his father, have replaced the drug dealing skills that learned from his mother, and he will eventually build himself a good life with them.

Ramona Cordova was Wonderful.

Instead of hiding up in Belair on my usual Wednesdays I went to the Frisby House and enjoyed Ramona Cordova play. It was a really special time because two of the neighborhood kids came in and helped played and giggled at his voice when he sang and everyone broke out into helping create the musical climate to his song. I am sure that Ramsey (one of the nice Frisby Punk House roomates) will have photos uploaded sometime soon right HERE. I also met a nice guy who help run pirate radio in LA before it got raided.

PS- I WILL be getting rid of the “innernumb.net” name for a shiny new .com or .whatever in the upcoming month so if you do happen to link me just shoot me a message for so I can tell you when I switch.

The Freedom Tunnel

Over the weekend I decided on driving up to New York with my girlfriend and to go inside the Amtrak Freedom Tunnel located near the Riverside Park. Finding out exactly how to get inside proven to be a bit of a challenge but after being nosey for twenty minutes I finally found a cut hole in a fence. While walking up the tracks towards the tunnel it is a bit daunting since all you see in the beginning is basically a big black hole on the inside with sheds of light coming down from the sides here and there. A homeless man slowly hopped out of the darkness reading a bible with no care or concern of who we were.

Once inside, all sounds start to blur and eventually come to a halt the deeper we walked. Sometimes though you could hear people talking and swear that they were right next to you only to realize their voices are just echoing through the drainage cut outs.

After the tunnel, we decided to see Times Square in which the parking price was $8.75 a half hour but I found a parking lot that charged $35 for 12 hours and slept in the car hidden away from the parking lot workers.

(Train speeding by movie will be up when it loads online.)

SIDE NOTE:

Josh Sisk was nice enough to post a picture he took of me at his studio.
I find this photo extremely funny.

I would like to thank my brother ken for his input, and my girlfriend Emily for watching me design the web layout at 1am in the morning rather than paying attention to her.

Bakery Goods!

My twin brother finally passed high school and so I decided to order some tasty vegan donuts from Brunie’s (Vegan) Bakery in which I completely forget how I found them but thats not the point. The point is that I ordered 3 doz. donuts and the within having them delivered hot and fresh to my house they were mostly all gone by the end of the day but not before I snatched up a honey glazed for myself to devour.

Well my birthday is this Thursday so I might order a pie for the weekend oh and check them out at www.myspace.com/bruniesbakery if you feeling a bit nosy.
